Most political parties elect leaders. Pakistani “leaders” own political parties. Unelected dynestic 4-life “leaders” look hypocrical asking for “democracy”Pakistanis never trusted Mr. Zardari. They are now appalled. An avalanche of criticism has fallen down on Mr. Zardari and most Pakistanis and Kashmiris have already repudiated his abandonment of Kashmir. His immature mumbling are not Pakistani policy. Neither does his mutterings reflect the sentiments of the Pakistani people. Mr. Zardari is not a member of the parliament. He got his chairmanship via a will. His banal blathering will be history soon, and his words may take him with it.

The chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik said “nobody will be allowed to overlook sacrifices of the Kashmiris.”

“Since 1947, three generations of Kashmir have been sacrificing their lives for resolving the Kashmir dispute. The past 18 years have produced thousands of orphans and widows for the cause. How can anyone forget the sacrifices,” Malik said.

Malik said he supported the India and Pakistan friendship. “But the two countries cannot do so by suppressing the Kashmir dispute. It is imperative for India and Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir dispute,” Malik said.

The senior Hurriyat leader, Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat while condemning Zardari’s statement said delay in resolution of the Kashmir dispute will have serious ramifications not only in Kashmir but South Asia.
“Kashmir poses a potential threat to nuclear peace in the entire South Asian region. Zardari or any other persons has to bear in mind that the survival of whole region is inescapably linked with the resolution of the Kashmir dispute,” Prof Bhat said.

“No country can ignore the supreme sacrifices of the Kashmir for resolving Kashmir according to their aspirations,” he added.

The president of the High Court Bar Association, Nazir Ahmad Ronga termed Zardari’s statement as “humiliation” to Kashmiris.

“The statement shows political immaturity of Zardari. He has totally strayed away from Pakistan’s traditional stand on Kashmir, but pro-Kashmir policies of his wife Benazir Bhutto. His statement is a sheer attempt to appease India and humiliate the Kashmiris,” Ronga said.

Ronga said Zardari “has to bear in mind that he can’t resolve other issues with India before the Kashmir dispute.”
