The Great Game was the game played by Lord Curzon and the Czar of Russia. Afghanistan was the playground. At frist Lord Curzon extended the British Empire to the Amy Darya (On to the Oxus). After a series of defeats, he withdrew the British Empire back to the Indus and the Duran Line formed the permanent boundary between the British Empire and the Russian Empire.
