Contributing Authors to Rupee News

Rupee News is owned and operated by Sapartese Management. There are several editors, Akhbar Navees, Amardeep Singh, and Lisa Bernstein

We present indpendent ideas, thought-provoking and unique. We intend malice towards none.

Rupee News presents fresh ideas. Its purpose – as well as that of the other such sites is to provide a venue for informed commentary on World politics and culture from a international perspective. We are writing about important developments from ISAF, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, NATO to UEFA. The “tagged” version of the last sentence might read like this – World politics, economics, culture, and current events, demography, literature, sports.

There are currently fifteen member-authors contributing to afoe who reside in several Asia, US and South Asian countries. We occasionally invite writers we appreciate to contribute as guest writers. Our contributors are keen observers of socio-economic developments, both on a international and a national level, who, in addition to their determination to contribute to an informed debate in the nascent European public sphere, have backgrounds in political journalism, audio-visual media, judicial advisory, think tanks, or academia.

We can not be positioned according to the common criteria and labels used to describe American politics and the (blogospherical) coverage thereof. While we could be generally described as “pro European”, we believe in the merit of informed debate regardless of the origin of a valid argument.

Akhbar Navees is a 50-something US-raised Pakistani American living somewhere in the US. His political background is well to the left of centre, and is very interested in investigative history, international relations, immigration, cultural integration and language policy issues. He is presently working on a long term doctorate in history

Jason Miller is a tenacious anti-capitalist and vegan animal liberationist. He is also the founder and editor of Thomas Paine’s Corner, associate editor for Cyrano’s Journal Online, blog director for The Transformative Studies Institute and associate editor for the Journal for Critical Animal Studies.
