Medical Tourism industy in India caters to the rich Americans, British, Pakistanis and others. It is a good idea as a business and the richest Indians are making money of the rich of the world. Some Pakistani hospitals are also doing the same. It however does not mean that India provides or can hope to provide good medical services to the ordinary Indians.

The richest Pakistanis of course visit the UK and the USA. India had offered a few medical scholarships to some Pakistanis for propoganda purposes. It has no statisitical meaning and no Pakistani worth his or her salt would go to India. Agha Khan Hospital allied with Harvard Medical school offers the best medical services in the world.

The Indian “IT industry” is only $42 Billion and only affects 6 million people. It has falied to produce any major software products “Khirkian” or other innovation that would impact the hardware or software industry. The Chinese industry is around the same number but beucause of the huge expansion of the Chinese manufacturing, the Beijing IT industry is growing at an exponential rate and is surpassing the “computer coolie call centers” misnamed as “IT industry” in Bharat.

The Filipino and other Eastern European industries are also competing for the same market. The Pakistani industry is projected to be around $11 Billion and becuase of the FTA with China will grow at a very high rate of growth.

If India is so medically backward…. then why is that hundreds of children along with their families coming to India for treatment.

Every month hundreds of people from Pakistan arrive in India to get heart treatment.

Pak still does not have even basic health facilities….. The entire article is fiction… THE AUTHOR CAN MAKE GOOD FICTION WRITER ……boooooooo

Manmohan…its you again.

The article was a discussion of Indian IT. You did not provide any rebuttal to any of the points discussed. This article was not a comparitive analysis of Afghanistan and India or any other country. Not sure why a comparitive analysis is being interjected here. It seems that you never read the article.

NOt sure why MIT was brought into the picture. SOmeone in the office suggested that perhaps you got confused between IT and IIT. IT stands for “INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY”. IIT is a universtiy in India with restrictive admission standards (becuase of an explosion in population and not enough unviersities) that do not translate into performance. The US with one third of the population of India has 100 times the numberof Universities.Let me count the number of Nobel peace prizes and the patents filed by ITT. I think they add up to a grand total of zero.

MIT several dozen and thousands of patents, plus revenue generation for industries worth Billions. MIT and the Ivy League universities have World class facilities with super computers and access to WW2 and real life engineering labs wich replicate particle acceslerators. Gnome research is identifying cancer and MIT alsong with Harvard Med has increased the life expectancy of Americans. MIT, Standford, Penn, Yale create knowledgef for the world and create world calss leaders etc. MIT is the generator of capitalism and knowledge in the free world

nobody denies that india is poor and backward..

but it is in a far better state than pakistan.. Indians command more respect , more than the pakistanis or bangladeshis in the west..

deny that but at your own peril.. indian IITs are no match
to Har vard or MIT, but they are far better than your pakistani
ones, and even Bill Gates admitted that…

I do not see any logic in mudslinging when you as a nation are struggling to survive..

Hi,

In your article you have only published about how poor india is.but you have forgot to potray that today india is considered to be amoungst the third fastest growing economies in the world.it is considered to be a member of BRIC,which are predicted to be the strongest economies by 2020.as said bout the literacy part in india,it has the maximum number of graduates and is the highest exporter of technology.as u have said about the discrimination between hindu and muslim in india,the social justice law in india remains the same for all.hence the godhra affected victim,bano,got justice even after 11 years since the event had happened.also goverment has introduced minority qoutoas for muslims in many colleges for their better upcoming.also bout the corruption and bribes in india have been reduced since the issue of licence raj and economic reforms taking place.The 2006 report by Transparency International ranks India at 70th place and states that significant improvements were made by India in reducing corruption.i only have a simple suggestion for this article, that you hav tried to compare india with various countries throughout the world.but then you have forgotten that no country is perfect.today US after the sub prime crisis is in such a bad state that the people there donot hav food left in food stores to buy.they are now hunting for expired or stale food just to meet their requirements and cut down on their expenses.atleast india doesnt put the burden of its problems on others shoulders like the way US is doing by blaming india and china for crisis throughout the world.anyways i just wanted to say next time the word india comes to your mind do also think bout the positive points and also the rich culture that india posses.i m proud to be a part of the world most diverse culture stiil a unified country,with 21 different languages but the one soul and that is indianess..

Inflation in india is not 14% like pakistan has.
pakistan depends of AID of USA/saudi.
Now once OIL price is 105$/barrel,we still have a meager inflation of 5%.

Anyways

pakistanis must be happy that its the richest country in the subcontinent :)
