Pakistan's economy resugerent: Sheds sluggishness at 4.1%

The Planning Commission, which prepares the growth targets, held a meeting on Friday to review economic performance and set targets for the next fiscal year.

“During the current fiscal year the achieved GDP (gross domestic product) growth rate is 4.1 percent as against the target growth rate of 3.3 percent,” the Planning Commission said in a statement late on Friday.

Kosovo is the unfinished business of the destruction of Yugoslavia. Bosnia-Hersogovina and Macedonia, and Croatia are independent, but Kosovo remains occupied by Serbia. After the destruction, and then cutting down of Bosnia, a fatigued world did not want to deal with the supression and the plight of the Kosovans in Europe. Today Kosovo a Muslim Albanian country remains gobbled up by Serbia which is refusing to give Kosovo its independence.

Pakistanis are watching the developments in the Balkans with interest and confusion. Many important states have recognized Kosovo. What compelling foreign policy decision prohibit Islamabad from recognizing Kosovo? Kosovo declared itself independent on Feb. 17th, 2008. It is a Muslim state and should be recognized immediately.The OIC Secretary General expressed happiness over this independence of Kosovo. It also expressed solidarity and support with the Kosovars. Islamabad’s policy should be guided by the OIC policies and the aspirations of the people of Kosovo.

Drone bombing correlation to suicide attacks

Pakistan Patriot has analyzed the number of Drone attacks on Pakistan versus the Suicide bombings in Pakistan. There seems to be a direct correlation between the attacks in FATA and the Suicide attacks in Pakistan.

The situation is complicated when other external forces like the Bharati (aka Indian) enter the picture and use the drone attacks as justification for helping, arming and supporting terror organizations like the TTP.

Hamid Mir sues 'Daily Times' for libel

Mir’s notice, sent through his lawyer said, “You have published a libellous report titled ‘Hamid Mir’s terrifying indiscretions’ along with the transcript of an alleged communication in the newspaper Daily Times on 16 May 2010, falsely attributed to Mr Hamid Mir and an unidentified man.
