Exit Strategy: A way out of Afghanistan

Dealing with Afghanistan is getting exponentially difficult. The Mayor of Kabul living in the “forbidden” Arg palace has no clue on how to govern the country. The anti-occupation forces have the run of the country and have repeatedly attacked Kabul and the heart of the US military.
As the insurgents smell victory the attacks have become more and more brazen–the latest onslaught from the capital to one of the largest and most-heavily fortified US bases in Bagram.

Going for broke in Qandhar: The End Game

The American operation in Qandhar is a go for broke strategy that plans to pressure the Anti-Insurgent forces enough to force them to join the Kabul government. Enough pressure has come to bear on Pakistan through the TTP and the drone bombings to make the Pakistanis buckle under the pressure and acquiesce to the American plan for Afghanistan. The consolation prize for Islamabad is that Bharati presence in Kabul could possible be curtailed–a move that is publicly being resisted by Delhi, but privately Delhi knows it cannot perpetuate the war in the Hindu Kush–it has no partners with which to continue the war. Even Mr. Karzai has deserted Delhi.

SCO's Nyet to Iran: Mulling Pakistan's membership

The SCO has said no to Iran, but it has not said yes to Pakistan. The decision is near, and may come as early as next month. China wants Pakistan in the SCO, and Russia wants Bhrat there to balance things out, but Delhi has not shown any interest in joining the SCO.

India should investigate mosque bombings

Subsequently, those Muslims who were helping the blast victims to shift in the hospitals were fired upon by the police that killed nine of them. The probe of these two incidents is gathering dust and its no one is sure when the truth will come out in this case and when the guilty may be punished.

Iran's Omar Khayyam
