Nawaz Sharif's obsession

Mr. Shairf has an obsession. He has been so traumatized by the coup de etat against him that he cannot think beyond his nose. Instead of giving Pakistanis a vision for the future, the “most popular politician” in Pakistan is busy defending the likes of Mr. Zardari. Lest he forget, he is not a partner of Mr. Zardari. Mr. Sharif represents the loyal opposition. How can Pakistanis expect to eliminate the 17th amendment and 58-2(b) when the leader of the loyal opposition is more Catholic than the pope–defending corruption and corrupt politicians.

Naxals want to partition "India": 40% of the landmass of "India" is in Maoist/Naxal hands

Naxalite insurgency spreading like wildfire in Bharat. Hindustan's Maoist insurgency map. There are secessionist movements in almost every state in "India" encompasisng more than 200 districts. The Naxals have been supported by the Maoists in Nepal. With the Maoist victory in Nepal the Naxals and Maoists of Bharat are increasingly more assertive. There were a 1,591 incidents of Maoist violence resulting in 721 killings; this year until August there had been 1,405 incidents, resulting in 580 deaths spread over 11 states. The situation in the northeastern parts of the country, the prime minister warned, was far from comfortable. "In two of the states, Manipur and Assam, current levels of violence give us cause for concern. According to home minister P Chidambaram, they had presence in 17 states and were responsible for 90 percent of the violence in the country. Bharat Verma says New Delhi and the state capitals have almost ceded the governmental control over 40 % of the Union’s territory to the Naxalites.

Mr. Sharif’s egregious and incorrect comments about “India” are a window into his mind–no wonder he ran to Uncle Vajpayee right after the coup. He also shared top secret miliatry discussions with the Indians

No terror in India due to democracy, says Nawaz Daily Times Monitor LAHORE: Terrorism cannot prevail in India because of the strong democracy in that country, a private TV channel quoted former premier Nawaz Sharif as saying on Monday. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief said the democratic regimes in India had barred terrorism from the country. Nawaz said terrorism flourished in dictatorial regimes. To eradicate terrorism, he said, the door should be slammed shut on martial law forever. He said the National Reconciliation Ordinance was still before the court and added that President Asif Zardari enjoyed immunity under the constitution and the courts would take note of that.

Some would have figured that a decade out of office would have taught the owner of ittefaq Foundry (whose declared net worth is only a few laks Rupees) some hard lessons in life. It seems he is still the same old  badmash as he always was.

Cowasje once wrote “Nawaz Sharif cannot or will not read, that is shy there is no censorship on newspapers, however TV is another matter”. Mr. Sharif would not lift the censorship on TV broadcasting—we have to thank the dictator and Mr. Sharif’s nemesis for the freedom accorded to the press.

If Mr. Sharif had the ability to read newspapers, he would have read the last few speeches of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in which the Indian premier described the biggest threat to India was the Naxal militancy which controls 40% of India (per Mr. Bharat Verma). Obviously Mr. Sharif has been living in a cve not to know the reality of India.

Has he not heard of the Irish Republican Army which fought a bitter war against Britain for decades, or is Mr. Sharif ignorant of the Basque separatist movement in Spain etc etc etc
