It is true as said by one of our commentators. It is indeed too late for us to be saved from the impending Indian invasion scheduled for the 22nd of this month. The President Mr Mohamed Nasheed has sold Maldives to India as soon as he came to power a while back when he obtained hundred million dollars from them and has already sealed our fate when he visited India to sign some questionable agreements.

Maldives-president-Mohamed Nasheed: The United Nations concluded in 2007 that sea-level rises of 20cm to 60cm would occur by 2100. The UN forecast, therefore, underestimates forthcoming changes. Most other estimates tend to be more extreme and suggest that by 2100, sea-levels could rise by between 1m and 1.5m – enough to cause major problems for the people of the Maldives.

According to information we have received, the Indian government gave the hundred million dollars to President Nasheed’s government because he pledged to surrender the country to Indian’s military control and command. The President has already used fifty million given in cash and is too deeply embedded in the fifty million given for strategic aid. Furthermore according to information we have received the Indian government has obtained pictures and proof of the President drinking alcohol Sula Shiraz from the Indian journalists, who attended the meeting that, he held for Indian journalists. Additionally the government of India has also got hold of CCTV footage of President and top MDP officials getting engaged in a drinking binge in the hotel they stayed.

The government of President Nasheed heavily under debt is not in a position to return the money the Indian government gave. Furthermore he cannot take any chances with the pictures of him drinking getting released by the Indian government to the world. Behind closed doors for sometime, the President has been negotiating with the Indian’s to stop them. It was said to be the reason why his Special Advisor Zaki went on an emergency trip to India. But either we give our country Maldives to Indian control or they will release the pictures and pressure the government to come up with the money they have paid and which the regime has already spent. The Indian government wants the control of Maldives and refused to make any compromises.

It is a make or break situation for the MDP government. Under the blackmail of this ruthless India, the President has no choice but give our country to the Indians to do whatever they like while every little action of ours will be videoed in India making it impossible for us to seek China’s help. The agreement according to an Indian newspaper will forbid Maldives form seeking military help from any other country anyway. Therefore if we try they can attack us, and take over the country.

The Maldive islands are fast disappearing under the sea. The Maldives should formally join Pakistan. As Pakistani citizens they would carry Pakistani passports and would be able to travel to Pakistan. There is plenty of land available in Pakistan. The Maldives should pass a resolution in parliament requesting Pakistani citizenship. Rupee News recommends that Pakistan give the 350,000 residents a home in Pakistan in exchange for facilities (airport, base) in the Maldivies 'till their island is still above sea level. The Maldives want to buy the land--350,000 would be a small city which could be built from scratch on the Karachi-Gwader freeway. Adequate security and basic facilities should be provided to them. The Maldive citizens should be required to fund a similar city for the stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh who sill fly the Pakistani flag on their shanty huts.

With our lack of capabilities and the Indian Military watching us on the radar control from their destination in India, at the sign of even the slightest move, we will be labelled a terrorist group as a country and will become like the marginalised Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka. Information we have received, also stated that the Indians have historically harboured high ambitions to form one country, by including Maldives in their territory, like the Andaman and Nicorbar islands. From the days of Jawaharlal Nehru, he has stated that the Maldives is rightfully part of India and belongs to India, and it should be done to serve India’s interest in the region. That interest means we will become just like the provincial governments of President Nasheed. India wants to own, Nicorbar islands, Andaman Islands and the Maldives islands, give them administrative power, but to bring it under the control of India, similar to the United Kingdom has done with Wales, Scotland and North Ireland.

In the United Kingdom, Scotland, North Ireland and Wales are allowed to call themselves countries and even form their own governments. But all these countries together in reality make Britain, and the whole world refers to it either as Britain or the United Kingdom. Hundreds and years of ambitions to own Maldives for India, has almost come true, by this so called democracy we have fell for, and voted a group to power that we should never had.

The President is blackmailed for a mistake he made, he drank alcohol, we did not, without thinking twice about the consequences it may hold. He got the money from India, and we have to pay the price by giving our country to India. On the 22 of this month, in a week’s time the President and MDP regime will sign the agreement which will surrender, our independence, our security, our freedom to live in our land without other’s interferences, our privacy and our identity to India.

Maldives has a strategic location for Paksitan. Already China and Bharat are courting it. Islamabad should form a deep alliance with the Maldives and ask it to join the ECO

Sadly there is nothing we can do about it, because our President is handicapped with personal mistakes and irrational judgments. However we appeal to the people this time we have to become bullet proof and come together as a nation to save our cuntry, ourselves and stop our government from signing this agreement. We call on the Maldives Parliament to step in, and also the Maldives Judiciary to work along to see how we can get out of this mess without sacrificing, our country, our sovereignty, our independence, our existence as a nation of the world.

Things will never be the same for us if we let India in, in this manner. Just like that our end will be sealed in a week if we do not intervene. Our forefathers had shed a lot of blood and paid high prices, to give us this nation Maldives. Do not let it be taken by the Indian in this manner, worse than how the British used East India Company to take over India as the powerful Indian military is executing this take over. Worse is also the fact that we are surrendering ourselves in one go, by giving military, security, sovereign control, instead of economic control and making ourselves helpless, vulnerable, on under a 24/7 watch from Indian Military, like criminals and prisoners in our own land. Already when we say to outsider that we are from Maldives, they always assume we are a part of India. On the 22nd if we do not act we will officially become part of India. We the people are the only one who can act, as the President is handicapped under blackmail.

Whether it is a decision between the end of MDP and President Nasheed’s regime and the end of Maldives as an independent country, we are sure the Maldivian people are ready to choose our indepdence and existence as a country. Act now; act today, without any second thoughts. Use people power to stop this take over.
