Mikaeel who converted to Islam in 2008 will be given a Muslim burial

Jermaine Jackson ended a news conference announcing the death of Mikael with the words: “And Allah be with you Michael, always. I love you.”

Jermaine has been a Muslim for years, and his announcement confirmed the fact that who had earlier converted to Islam will be with his “Allah”.

Jermaine had talking to Michael about Islam for years, and Michael also showed interest. After his trial, Michael emigrated to Bahrain, where he was the special guest of the crown prince Sheik Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa.  Jermaine says it was in Bahrian that Michael began to give re-conversion to Islam more “serious thought.” In 2008, Michael, then 50, was photographed wearing a Arab head wear. In November of that same year, news stories and sources close to the star informed the world that Michael had formally converted to Islam in a ceremony at a friend’s house in Los Angeles. He then adopted the name “Mikaeel”—the name of one of the angels of God.

Mikaeel will be given a Muslim burial according to his wishes. Per “Sharia” or Islamic law, a Muslim’s body should be given a bath and wrapped in a white sheet before being buried on his right side with his face facing the holy city of Mecca. The “Salat al-Mayyit” — prayer for the dead is offered and like other Abrahamic traditions the family members and friends traditionally observe a mourning period.

One source told X17 Online “Michael’s brother Jermaine is educating the family as to the special rites because he feels it’s important to bury his brother according to the Muslim way.”
