A careful analysis of the the statements of Secretary of State Condaleeza Rica and President Barack Obama show huge discrepancies between the words and the deeds of the two very different styles and policies. Ms. Condaleeza Rice strutted about in Delhi and Islamabad as if she was the Viceroy of British Empire. President Barack Obama’s statements were measured and balanced.

After a decade of absolute failure Ms Rice still thinks that she is on the shining road which which lead her to Nirvana. After a decade of war and malaise, Ms. Rice hasn’t learned anything. Pulled from Harvard by George W. Bush, Ms. Rice was an expert on Russia. She tried to implement a Cold War Policy on Iraq, Afghanistan and now Pakistan. The adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan have been abject failures. With over a million Iraqi dead, about 3 million are either homeless or have fled Iraq.

In Afghanistan the US and NATO forces are facing imminent defeat. Even with 30,000 new soldiers in the graveyard of the Mongols, Alexander, the British, and the Russians the NATO adventure is precarious at best. With trouble brewing in Pakistan and India, the failure of the policy in Kabul is self evident.

The Bush Administration has witnessed the bankruptcy of America. The last decade has also seen the great USA lose its moral authority and freedoms.

There is a saying in Pakistan “the rope is burned, but the twist remains“. After all this the arrogance and hubris of Ms. Rice is hard to fathom. As she retires into oblivion, the world will wish her a farewell. It wont be a fond farewell, but it may come with a book deal and movie. She surely will retire rich–but what a disgrace to her office and the country she badly represented for a decade.
