The US has attacked Pakistani territory and the Marines have killed children and women. Pakistan can roll over the play dead, and allow the US, NATO and ISAF forces to continue the attacks on sovereign Pakistani territory. All American attacks create more anti-Americanism.

“Pakistan’s territorial integrity has to be respected” German Defense Minister Franz Josef. Pakistan provides logistics support to the ISAF and NATO troops. This includes allowing access to Pakistani roads and airspace to US and ISAF forces. It also includes four air bases given to America for her campaigns in Afghanistan. More than 80% of food, ammunition, and supplies are sent to US forces in Afghanistan via Pakistan.
US air bases aour Iran are targets for Iranian retaliation

US air bases around Iran are targets for Iranian retaliation

Pakistan has the means to react forcefully to American attacks on Pakistani territory. How can it retaliate or save its innocent citizens from being bombed by drones and killed by US intrusion?

1) Pakistan can stop providing logistical support to the US every time the US attacks Pakistan. Reaction: Pakistan suspends support to US for “security reasons”

2) Pakistan can reduce the number of bases that the US uses. The US has four Airforce bases in Pakistan. The most critical ones are Jacobabad, Pasni, Dalbardin and Sharris. For starter, one base on the Afghan border can be shut down. This would send a clear message to the thinktanks in Washington who think Pakistan should “do more”.

3) Pakistan can disallow or suspend supplies to American forces.

4) Pakistan can withdraw her 120,000 soldiers from the Durand Line and make them ready to combat any intrusion.

5) Pakistan can fire missiles at intrusion forces.

6) Pakistan can stop all participation in the Global War on Terror.

7) Pakistan can disallow any US force in Pakistan.

All these actions are prone to intense pressure.NATO feels pain in Kabul after Pakistan turns off spighot.   Any, or all of these are frought with personal danger to the instigator.  President  General Gul Hamid says is best. He says, in their old age, the Pakistani leaders grow a conscience and try to do the right thing. Prime Minster Liaqat Ali Khan paid for his life when he lebearated Azad Kashmir, refused to help the US to attack Iran, and tried to form a confederation with Afghanistan (approved by King Zahir Shah). Ayub Khan also found out the hard way. Weeks after he shut down the American Badabare Airforce base, he had to resign as a result of CIA psy ops. Prime Minsiter Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto also paid for his life, because he stood up to Kissinger and insisted on developing a bomb and trying to unite the Muslim leaders. Persident Zia ul Haq paid for his life when he supposedly “double crossed” the CIA and completed the nuclear bomb. Presidnet Musharraf had to resign becuase he was begining to stand up to pressure, refusing to allow an attack on Iran and building an alternative relationship with China. Benazir Bhutto also changed her mind on many things and had to pay for it with her life.

The present situation in untenable. Red Mosque Hostages: When Freedom Fighters turn “Terrorist”

ISAF and NATO have miserable in Afghanistan. The American people are read to hire a new commnader and chief and the old policies will not survive the administration.A surge in Afghanistan will not work.

The Solution: ‘Pakistani boots’ on the ground inside Afghanistan

Pakistan needs to fix it’s terrorism problem, there was an attempt on your Prime Minister’s life the other day. The US is just trying to help.

  2. Moin Ansari says:

    Ganesh its you again…

All the trash that the CIA pickup up during the 80s was dumped in the neighborhood of Pakistan. Bin Laden who was thrown out of Saudi was trained and armed by the CIA under the guidence of Charlie Wilson.

The “Taliban” was created by the CIA. See Congress Rohrabacker’s statements.

Pakistani territory is sovereign territory. US attacks killing women and chldren does not bode well on the relationship.

The US has not targeted anti-Paksitan elementsw supported by India. The US has not targeted the Indian agent Bait Mehdsud even after exact location of this terrorist was given to ISAF.

  3. Dev Kant Bose says:

    Ansari saheb,

Do you think USA would just allow Pakistan to turn off the spigot?

By the way, stop calling Baitullah Mehsud a terrorist and a Indian agent. He is the next Saladin who will impose the true Islamic order in Pakistan.

    Dev Kant

  4. Moin Ansari says:

Bait Mehsud is in Indian terrorist agent who has taken hundreds of lives of innocent civilians. he enemy number one in Pakistan.

The Afghan Taliban fired him, and not want anything to do with him. The Afghan resistance movement does not associate with him. He is trash.

Salahuddin Ayubi was a man of integrity. When his arch enemy King Richard’s horse wa killed in battle, Saladdin offered his own.

Salddin never killed the innocent and the civilians. When he liberated Jerusalme, he allowed the Jews to come back in (who had been thrwon out by the Crusaders), and allowed the construction of Non-Ppoe churches which had been banned by the pope). During the riegn o Saladdin 400 new churches were built.

Bait is a common criminal who gets his funds from RAW and Karzai.

Pakistan gets tow types of aid. The civilian aid is about $650 million per annum. US law mandates ant at least 50% of it stays in the US. So 50% is spent on hiring US constultants. 25% of this aid is spent on ligistics–hotels, travel, adminstration. 25% of this aid finally reaches the recepient country and usually ends up being wasted.

China has spent billions in Pakistan and has the Heavy mechanical Complex, the Kabnberra Aircarft Manufacturing Facilities, the JF-Thunder manufacturing, Al-Khalid tanks, Chasnupp, Gwader to show for it etc etc etc. US Aid has no icons to show-off

Contrary to popular belief most of the military “aid” sent to Pakistan is in the form of reimbursement check for services provided by a vendor. The vendors are transportation companies and the like.

The military relationship between the ISAF and the Pakistan Army is a purely transactional relationship. The Pakistan Army provides certain logistical support services to the ISAF forces and it gets reimbursed for those services. Providing fuel, water, and logistical support is a sevice that should be assessed if it is in the commercial and non-commercial interests of the seller.

In their assessment, It seems, that at the present time, providing logisitcal support, is not a profitable venture for the Pakistan Army. Stopping the supplies sends a strong message to ISAF and NATO. Unless and until freindly fire is stopped, the security situation does not allow the services to continue. This is a subtle and not so subtle message to the powers to be.

A commercial relationship can only last if both the buyer and the seller are satisfied. it seems that at the present time both sides have been unable to manage expectations. The US feels it is not getting what it paid for, and the Pakistani parliament and people feel that this is not what they deserve.

It is up to them to decide.

Calling Mehsud is biggest goof by author, to spread the dirty work done by this terrorist and attcks by army are to just to divert attention to blame India, Moin is biggest Indian sucker puncher…. however
The Ground stuation is actually different, what is written in the heading.
Meeting between the US Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen and our own General Kiyani, in which we received a pat on the back for our part in killing our own people

a Persian proverb runs in translation: a beggar’s anger is on himself! American awareness of the total dependence of our leaders on American dole for salvaging the country’s flagging economy, rather than on bold, courageous and innovative steps and a spirit of belt-tightening and sacrifice till things got better, makes that country treat us like dirt

Moin is day dreaming and unpracticle solutions, he needs to understand the internal issues to external pressures/war on terror.

  6. Dev Kant Bose says:

    Ansari saheb,

Let us buy your argument that USA does not contribue much to Pakistani exchequer. In that case why does Pakistan bend over to every Am demand.

And you are wrong on Baitullah Mehsud. Mehsud and people like him are the true Mussalmans and will ensure that true Islam will reign in Pakistan, a nation which was created in the name of Islam. though I am an expat Indian and a Hindu, I will welcome it because with true Islam, Pakistan will finally achieve its destinty. Pakistan’s westernised feudalist elite rulers will finally be consigned to the dustbins.

    Dev Kant

  7. Moin Ansari says:

    Mr. Kant:

Pakistan does not bend to every American demand. If Pakistan listened to every US demand then Pakistan would not be a nuclear power or a missile power.

If that was so there would be no relationship with China or Iran.

China is one of Pakistan’s best friends and the development of JF-17 Thunder, the J-10, J-11, Al-Khalid Tanks, are joint ventures which go on much to the chagrin of the USA.

Paksitan suffered 10 years of sanctions as a result of its nuclear activities in defians of world pressure.

There are common interests and as India gets more tnagled with the US, India will also learn that dangers of dancing with the US. Kissinger talked about the fatality of the dance with America!

The secret letter published by the Washinton Post about the Indian nuclear deal is an eye opener on the trap that India just walked into.

Your other comments are so over the top that they have to be refuted. Bait Mehsud is an Indian Agent. He has sophisticated equipment and evades the authorities in a timely manner. He attacks civilians and blows up people in hospitals. Indians should condemn terror. Your eulogies for terrorists is strange and shows a true hatred for Muslims and Paksitanis.

  8. manney says:

    December 17, 2008
An influential United States lawmaker says if Pakistan is sincere about fighting terrorism, it should hand over those who conspired, planned, and launched the Mumbai terror attacks from within its territory to an international tribunal where they can face justice for crimes against humanity.
US Congressman Ed Royce of California, who is the ranking Republican on the House Subcommittee on Terrorism and Nonproliferation of the Foreign Affairs Committee, also said in an interview, that if Pakistan continues to dilly-dally in bringing the perpetrators to justice and closing down the terrorist camps and networks that operate within its borders, he will lead the fight in the United States Congress to cut the massive military and security assistance to Pakistan.
“I will work with my colleagues to get the toughest resolution I could out of the United States Congress,” he said, “and in the meantime, I know the message that our Secretary of State (Condoleezza Rice [Images]) and others have delivered at the highest levels in Pakistan are focused on achieving results.”
Royce served notice that “the current and future (Obama) administrations should know that those of us that are concerned about stability and security and peace in South Asia, are going to be ratcheting up the pressure to make sure that this terror network within Pakistan is shut down once and for all.”
The US, he said, must continue to “impose maximum pressure now for two reasons,” on Pakistan.
“One, is to end the terror attacks that emanate out of these camps by the Laskhar-e-Tayiba that are now affecting our operations in Afghanistan and now creating attacks in Mumbai and across India.”
“But the secondary reason is because the next target of the Lashkar will be the current president of Pakistan — (Asif) Zardari. And, I say that because Zardari referred to the militants who have been killing civilians in Kashmir as terrorists and wolf packs. So, the language he’s been using is taboo for a Pakistani politician and the Islamists will try to take him out very soon.”
Royce said Zardari had also “embraced a no first use of nuclear weapons, he’s trying to strip the ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) of its political wing. So, here’s why we need to bring pressure to bear — it’s not just to help defend India and help defend the United States against terrorist attacks.”
“It is also because unless Zardari gets the upper hand against those factions in the ISI and those factions in (Pakistani) society who are ever expanding their power, and who are using those militant camps to further expand their influence and power and grow militant jihadism — that is eating away at all of Pakistan and an increasing number of Pakistani youth are being educated to hate — the threat of terrorism facing India and the United States is not only going to worsen, but it is also going to remove elected government in Pakistan.”
“And, just like the President’s wife — just as she was assassinated — those officials who are opposing the Lashkar will be removed,” Royce said.

  9. Andaleeb says:

Royce is a dog, like all of the others in the legislature and the Government, on that side of the pond. He needs to pelted with some smelly khoosas.

He’s forgotten the huge debt his country owes Pakistan. America’s endless betrayal and abuse of Pakistan, is a lesson for all countries allied to it except Israel (its heart, mind and soul) that sooner or later it will stab you in the back.

He conveniently forgets that most of Pakistan’s leaders, who were assassinated, were killed by Amreeka and they were ironically the most pro-American ones: General Zia, Liaquat Ali, and Benazir when they were no longer useful to them. Sooner or later they’ll do the same to ex-President Musharraf and to Zardari and then blame ‘terrorists’ / internal elements.

Happily, Pax Americana is dead and the US is an economic (and soon-to-be military- deadbeat. The threats and bluster must be seen in this context.

Pakistan needs to tell the global bully to take a hike. Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Venezuela have managed to survive this menace, Pakistan can too.
