The US faces imminent defeat in Afghanistan. The Republican are desperately seeking trophies to win the elections. In an attempt to capture Bin Laden all CIA operatives were called to the Afghan border. Then cross border raids were enacted. this is when all hell broke lose along the Durand Line. The Pakistanis got all bent out of shape and even fired at the US forces. Bush ignores NIC highligted risks of attack on Pakistan. Pakistan-China-Russia:- An historic realignment: It is pedagogical to note that we have been predicting an historic realignment in Asia. America & Pakistan headed towards divorce? or just a tiff? The Chinese are eagerly awaiting the trip of President Asif Zardari. It is time for payback to the Indians. While President Zardari is visiting beijing, the Indian Foreign Minister will also be there. It will be pedantic to see the difference in the protocol given to the Pakistan and the Indian delegations. If history is any indicator, Indian feelings are going to be hurt.

What has amazed the analysts is the eagerness of the Chinese to make sure that President Zardari’s first official overseas trip is to China. Beijing is ready to offer Pakistan a similar Nuclear deal that India got from the US. However Indian analysts who do not understand Chinese-Pakistani relations are expecting a public signing of a Pakistani-Sino deal in the same fashion as the Indo-US deal was announced. China and Pakistan work at different levels. The major difference is the Chinese Nuclear deal does not come with any strings and is cheaper. China has already built the Chasnupp 1 and the Chasnupp 2. To avoid a lot of publicity, the last time Pakistan and China worked out a nuclear deal (Chasnupp 2) it was announced without any pomp and ceremony.

An upgrade to the Gwader-China road and rail link is expected to bring huge benefits to the FATA that has already been signed between the two countries.

    Awareness among young Pakistanis should be made about the need to strengthen friendly ties with China. More joint projects in education field should be launched. Chinese have proven categorically their mettle in mega-structure engineering as well as advance infra-structure technology. Young Pakistanis should appease their higher education aspiration with China.

      A few months ago i was in Seoul. Most of the Koreans are not learning Japanese or English anymore. They are learning Chinese. This is a sign of the times. Chinese speaking Pakistanis can find opportunities in Beijing and China. This is the future Superpower of the world. We must thank the Chinese in many languages and work on a people to people program
