What if Pakistan had not been created?

There are huge history groups and sites dedicated to playing “what if scenarios” about the world. Let us “look into the seeds of time” and see if we can decipher anything by imagining a world without Pakistan. Let us imagine that by some quirk of history Pakistan was not formed. Many believe that that the only thing keeping India together is Pakistan.

1) Let us start the story around 1900

2) In 1906 the British partitioned Bengal. In 1911 under pressure from the Hinduvata, the British canceled the partition. What if Bengal had been partitioned and remained partitioned. In 1906 the Muslim League was formed by the Bengalis with active participation from Alama Iqbal and others.

3) Qauid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah instead of dyeing in 1948 could have died in 1946 from the same TB/cancer ailment that he had be diagnosed with.

4) If there was no Pakistan the Indian borders would have extended to the Indus. The Soviet borders would have crossed the Oxus way before 1980 and would have established their access to the warm waters of the Arabian Sea

5) If the Russians were in Qandhar there would have been no Afghan jihad and the USSR would not have imploded. As neighbors to Iran and the Saudis, the Russians would have actively helped the Saudis in their 1973 arms embargo which would have lasted a decade and totally destroyed the Western economies of the USA, Japan and Europe.

6) India is embroiled in over 89 insurgencies right now. The Notheeast is totally out of control and the huge swathe of territory comprising 40% of Bharat’s land mass is in the hands of the Naxalite Maosist insurgents. There is no Federal control over these territories. If there was no Pakistan, the FATA, NWFP, Punjab, Sindh, Balauchistan would be in total armed rebellion as would Bengal and Kashmir. More than 400 million fighting the Moscow backed central government.

7) It takes 250,000 Indian soldiers to keep the insurrection in Kashmir down. If there was no Pakistan, there would have been 500,000 soldiers trying to keep down Punjab, Bengal and the Western states. There would be total pandemonium with the USA supporting all the revel groups against the USSR sponsored government in New Delhi.

8) Unable to control the rebellions, the fate of Yugoslavia and the USSR awaited India–it exploded with a bang. All of Punjab and all of Bengal went their own way and formed confederations with SIndh Balauchistan and the Western provinces. Bengal and the seven sisters along with Bihar and Assam would go their own way.
