THE former Human Rights Minister Ansar Burney has released names of 169 Pakistani including 29 females and 19 demented prisoners languishing in the Indian jails.
While talking to this scribe, Burney said that all the prisoners were believed to be Pakistani citizens and they were detained in the various prisons across India while some of them were being kept into custody despite completion of their sentences even over a decade ago.
He said that the Indian authorities had agreed to release all these Pakistani prisoners after the recent improvement of relations between the two countries. He said that list of names of these prisoners had been handed over to him by the Indian government during his recent visit to India. He said that he would try his level best to save life of the Indian prisoner, Sarabjit Singh, as he had served his jail term since 1991 when he was first arrested by the Pakistani government.
