Nawaz Sharif goes bonkers again!
Further cracks are showing in the new government. Initially, the portfolios of Commerce, Foreign Affairs were to go to the PML(N) and Finance to the PPPP. However the PPPP has balked and wants Foreign Affairs for itself. It also does not want to be burdened with the Finance Ministry.
Mr. Zardari has been wanting to form a government of national unity. In all probability the PPPP will form a government with the MQM in Sindh. However other than reasons of race and ethnicity, it is not apparent why Mr. Naqaz Sharif is holding a grudge against the fourth largest party of Pakistan. The PML(N) has threatened the PPP that if it agrees on a power sharing agreement with the MQM at the national level, the PML(N) will weigh its options.
The PML(N) has raised the ethnic issue at brought it to a fever pitch in the Punjab. An illiterate and emotional population should be led away from ethnicity but the Sharifs have exacerbated the situation with his politics of hate and bigotry
