Just like the Chinese Nuclear explosion and the Chinese Hydrogen bomb took the nuclear world by surprise, the stealth bomber from China has taken the aviation world by stupefaction. The reaction is as varied as it is predictable. From the “No Way“, to “its a fake“, to “the Chinese can never do it“, to “Wow” to “Oh My God!” Rupee News stand behind this story.

We have reproduced a listing of all Chinese aircraft so that lineage and an evolutionary pattern can be shown.

The controversy over the fighter will continue for years and possibly decades. Rupee News was one of the premier sites to break this groundbreaking news, and this short brief remains one of our most popular article.

The Chinese have never imposed any sanctions on Pakistan. The development of Chinese technology is of course of interest to Pakistan, because Pakistan may get access to it.

The prototype aircraft was reported to be an enlarged version of the H-6 with underwing engines, but that the project was canceled in the early 1970s before the bomber went into production. the China military has a stealth bomber called Xian H-8. The bomber has 4 Ws-10A engines derived from Russian and US technology. It is made from carbon fiber and coated with special nanotechnology. well, the Xian H-8 has a max speed of Mach 1.2 and carries stealth missiles in its cargo bay. The bomber also can carry nuclear missiles. China is currently developing stealth fighters like J-XX and J-13 (which is based on the J-10).

It is the world’s second Stealth bomber, and is more advanced than the American B-2. Because the project is top-secret, little is known about the aircraft. It is a Stealth, strategic, and heavy bomber rolled into one. It carries a crew of two. It could fly as fast as Mach 1.4, has a range of 11,000 kilometers (without refuelling), and can carry over 18 tonnes of bomb load. It can carry twelve Stealth cruise missiles (each with a range of 3,000 km) on each of the two weapons bays. It could carry an additional three nuclear missiles (350-kilotons each). The bomber will be mass-produced and will enter active service in the PLAAF by 2010. The bomber will replace the old H-6 bombers that the PLAAF have in active service.

For obvious reasons the actual bomber may look slightly different because the pictures may have been camouflaged to hide the details of true design of the Chinese plane. This is standard operating procedure for new secret weapons. A similar obfuscating tactic was adopted by the American DoD before the Stealth B-2 bomber was introduced to the public. Prototype models of the B-2 had all sorts of designs.

Here are only SOME of the features:

-High-tech blended wing-body design
-Fly-by-wire controls
-Angled fuselage
-Internal fuel tanks.
-Carbon fiber and composite materials
-Rotating weapons profile bay
-Mapping radar, satellite data links and advanced digital mapping systems
-Nanometer coating
-4 turbo-fan engines – based on the WS-10A

Here is a picture of the Chinese H-8 bomber. Some Chinese analysts claim that the real picture has been changed so as not to reveal the true details about the bomber.

According to the “Fenghuang Tower”  the H-8 is reported to start trial flights from January 5th. The Chinese leadership including the Central Military Committee officers, air force logistics department officer, national defense science and industry committee, Xi’an deputy mayor, the provincial party committee assistant deputy secretary, amongst others were present for inaugurating the project.

The H-8 is a secret strategic bomber, is the first stealth plane for China. The report said that, in 1994 officially set up a development to match the American B-2A as far as possible. The weapons load is targeted around 18 tons. When necessity, the bomber may travel at 1.2 Mach to penetrate defended territory or in case it needs to escape.

The bomber will carry a new stealth cruise missile. It also has the range to reach targets on the continental United States. Range is estimated to be up to ten thousand kilometers. It is unclear whether this is with refueling or without refueling. However, the bomber is said to be able to refuel. The aircraft uses domestically produced advanced navigation equipment. The bomber has been designed by the 603 institute, and Xian will be responsible for producing the bomber. The bomber will be the first domestically designed and manufactured strategic bomber.

According to the report, the H-8 uses a high-tech blended wing-body design, has fly-by-wire controls, and an angled fuselage. The wing has massive internal fuel tanks. The aircraft using carbon fiber and other composite materials. The weapons bay has a rotating weapons profile.

The bomber retains a terrain hugging capacity and has a terrain following and mapping radar, satellite data links and advanced digital mapping systems. The bomber also uses advanced stealth technologies including nanometer coating amongst other technologies.

The H-8 will have 4 turbo-fan engines, the core of which is based on the WS-10A. Weapons will include 12 “red birds” (??) or 3 cruise missiles distribute in two weapons bays. Each of the cruise missiles may use a nuclear warhead and can fire from a distance of 3,000 kilometers. It can also use a host of other weapons including laser guided “thunder stone” 6, satellite guidance bomb and anti-ship missile, amongst others.

The H-8 is being test flown. Originally taken and retranslated from Chinese website World Journal.

    1. THX MOIN BHAI ,PAK n CHINA are jointly working on stealth features of jf-17 or another stealthy aircraft?

    2. ASALAM-O-ALIKUM MOIN BHAI ,i want to ask one thng from u suppose CHINA will complete its j-xx or h-8 stealth by 2010 n they will enter servise in PLAAF do u thnk CHINA will give or offer these latest stealth to PAK coz after all they are stealth and many countries dun wana sell their latest aircraft to other countries for ecample USA and UK are very good frnds and have very good defence history both are members of NATO and even UK is itself buILding f-35 ii coz USA has transfer technology to UK but USA is not allowing any country including UK to buy their f-22 raptor many countries like ISRAEL ,AUSTRALLI AND UK are willing to buy that and all are very close to USA but USA is not willing to sell so do u thnk somethng lyk ths will happen with CHINA and PAK in case of stealth.

      • Pakistan and China are ALREADY working on stealth technology and both countries are working on the new generation of JF-17 Thunders.

There is no international agreement that prevents China from selling technology to Pakistan. Even if there were such regimes, Beijing would ignore them.

Remember the stronger Pakistan is the stronger China is. China helps Pakistan be the counterweight to Bhrat and keeps it cut down to size.

The China-Pakistan relationship is not a one way street. Gwader is a huge help to China in its “String of pearls” strategy in converting the Sea surrounding Bharat into an “Asian Ocean” and a Chinese lake. Pakistan was instrumental in the national cohesion of China by giving the Chinese access to Tibet via Aksai Chin. The Chinese owe Pakistan a lot and they never forget the help Pakistan provided in building the Chinese bridge to the USA.

    3. IF CHINA BUILDS THE H-8 BOMBER WILL PAKISTAN GET IT TOO!!!

    4. The most important information, about the Chinese develoment in the aeronautical Industry.
Chinese contribution to Pakistan’s defense is great.
It is pity the regime change in Pakistan came at such a crucial time. We were going great guns and developing our defense industry at a great speed. May all this law and and order situation in Pakistan, is created and fabricated by the enemies of Pakistan, to put breaks on our relations with China?

    5. Exactly how do you justify this comment:
“It is the world’s second Stealth bomber, and is more advanced than the American B-2. ”

How is it more advanced than the B2?

Furthermore, there is a slight error in your numbering. This would not be the 2nd stealth bomber, but the 3rd dedicated bomber. The F117A was first, the B-2 was second. If we are going to look at STEALTH flying aircraft in general we would also include the F22, F35 and (now defunct) Comanche helicopter.

Interestingly, the B1, though never mentioned in stealth discussions was a step towards radar “invisibility” as it’s radar cross-section was TINY, making it look much smaller on radar than it was.

Finally, I highly doubt China is as far along as they claim (if the story is even true). As stealth is no longer a new technology (we’re already several decades into it being known to the PUBLIC) there really is very little reason for China to keep it under wraps.

The USA knows that China may have samples of its stealth technology. They (the USA) lost a F117A bomber in former Yugolavia, which the Serbs promptly salvaged (The Americans did not bomb the crash site fast enough… Stupid!) and showed to Russians (it is possible the Russians then shared/sold the tech). Point is: if I know, and you know, and I know you know then there is no reason for secrecy.

Furthermore, if their intention was to keep this secret then how come there are pics on YouTube?! Surely a government with such a tight grip on the population is capable of keeping people with cameras away from their top secret projects!

It could be they are working on something like this but I would be surprised if the had a flyable platform yet. Not impossible, but it would surprise me if anything came of it in the next 2 years. This episode looks very much like Iran’s new tank (have you seen the pic with the cardboard cutouts?)

    6. Please, the Chinese STEAL they dont INVENT, get real man, nice sense of nationalism I do respect that about the Chinese.

When you are stealing and then reverse engineering fire control systems fomr the russian that are 1970’s tech then palcing in th J10 this is a pipe dream for CHINA. Only Barrack Obama will give youthe technology.

    7. It is your opinion and you are welcome to it. While PakDef has some good info, there is a lot of nonsense and disinformation on it also.

      We stand behind our articles.

As described in the article, the Chinese deliberatly altered the pics to avoid release of Chinese screts.

    8. The Chinese H-8 does not exist. It is a photoshoped copy of the USAF Stealth bomber. This aircraft has been extensively discussed on www. pakdef.info/forum. Please visit this forum and check your facts not only about H-8 but also on other aircrafts like J-11 mentioned on your website.
