Shaheryar Azhar, a mediocre retired city banker in New York, is an ineffective compere for ARY TV, attempting to conduct dull and banal forums on irrelevant issues bereft of any intellect. It is full of the Neocon gibberish, the usual mud-slinging and personal innuendos which typically characterize bad talk shows.

The interview with Mr. Prag Khanna and his book on the decline of American power and the rise of China and Europe did not focus on the pertinent subjects.  There was hardly any discussion of China and no discussion of non-inclusion of India in the list of future super-powers. Mr. Khanna says that India has missed the boat.

A good host who wants to review a book should have read the book. The program was going well ’till Mr. Azhar started opening his mouth and spouting Neocn jargon. He is either too stupid to realize the difference between “Islamist” or “Islamic” or perhaps wants to pursue the agenda on creating a new vocabulary to demonize all Muslims. After repeated appeals to him to abandon the Neocon jargon, he continues to use it.

Mr. Azhar on the program failed to focus on the most important dimension of the book which states that “India” has missed the boat on becoming a superpower.

Mr. Azhar a Gandhi-drone either did not want to discuss this or tried to hide it from the audience. A thorough review of Mr. Parag’s books is produced on this site a few weeks ago.

Mr. Khanna’s asserted that Pakistan has three forces present in its borders, the Army, the secular forces and the Islamic forces. Duh! Is this news? Almost every country in the world has several power centers. The US has the Congress, presidency, judiciary, but it also has the military industrial complex, secular forces and religious forces. Mr. Khanna’s shallow theory on Pakistan was not challenged by the sycophantic and obsequious Mr. Azhar.

If ARY wants to present a real anti-Pakistani view, perhaps they should hire Advhani or Thackery to do a better job. Why bank (pun intended) on a cheap imitation–Mr. Azhar who actually did not read the book, and knew nothing about it. He was surpirsed when Mr. Khanna mentioned the fact that the US is in decline and Europe is a superpower. Mr. Azhar had no knowledge of what Mr. Khanna was saying.

In his previous shows Mr. Azhar has shown his lack of knowledge on many subjects, including Pakistani history. Bred on the New York Times and Neconish literature, monkey say, monkey do, Mr. Azhar is unable to differentiate between propaganda and real news.

Mr. Azhar is the worst host on television.

ARY should fire Mr. Azhar psychophantic pro-India Ghandian Pakistani imitation of the Islamphobic Neocons. Mr. Azhar should be fired for incompetence, bad taste and non-sensical bilious balthering
