Is India a Failed State? The chimera & facts of slick marketing schemes by "India Inc."

Failed States

In a sea of affluence spreading from Luxemburg to Sydney south Asia is the only island of penury—kept down by India,  that is a heavy millstone for South Asia. Unlike China India has been unable to pull herself from the bootstraps and provide decent living, food and shelter to her citizens. Marketing alone cannot gloss over the poverty stricken population of India. Bollywood may be able to hide the Indian slums by filming in Kuala Lumpur but Bollywood cannot hide the dilapidated infrastructure of India cities. By all counts, India is a failed state.

If this critical corridor is choked or subverted or severed by force, the Union of India will have to maintain the Northeast by air. With poor quality of governance for which the country is infamous, the local population may gravitate towards other regional powers.

maoist-insurrection-india.jpgThe real failed state is “India”NaxalitesINTERNAL “INDIAN” CAVITIES: The Naxalites have a force of approximately 15,000 cadres spread across 160 districts in the states of Orissa, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka and West Bengal. They operate primarily in the lawless, dense forested areas of India’s interior, with some estimates saying Naxalites control approximately 10.03 million hectares (about 25 million acres) of forests nationwide. They also have an active campaign to recruit students and other youths to help spread their left-wing extremism into India’s towns and cities. Thus far, however, the Naxalites have not demonstrated the ability to operate in urban areas.

While the Maoists have carried out spectacular attacks and did disrupt polls to some extent, they were not fully successful in effecting a boycott. Voter turnout in the constituencies worst hit by Maoist violence was a respectable 50%.

Maoist influence runs through a stretch of territory referred to as the “Red Corridor”. This extends from the Telangana region in Andhra Pradesh through Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand up to Bihar. Areas in western Orissa and eastern Uttar Pradesh are also under Maoist influence. And they have some presence in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka as well.

The area where the Maoists operate has grown dramatically in recent years. In the early 1990s the number of districts affected by varying degrees of Maoist violence stood at just 15 in four states. This rose to 55 districts in nine states by the end of 2003 and to 156 districts in 13 states in 2004. Maoists are believed to be operating now in around 200 districts (of a total of 602 districts in the country) in 17 states.

Government officials point out that these statistics and the name Red Corridor have conjured up images of Maoists being in control of a large swathe of land and posing a threat to the Indian state…

…The Maoists have also been blowing up power lines and service towers. In May 2007, they blew up three 132 KVA high-tension towers in the Bastar region, plunging six districts into darkness for a week and disrupting normal power distribution for a fortnight. “Functioning of hospitals, communication systems and rail traffic, besides iron ore mines was badly affected,” Ramana points out. In June of last year, two 220 KVA towers were blasted depriving 15,000 villages of electricity.

Maoists have displayed their military capability through their high-profile attacks on railways and other infrastructure. They have been able to inflict losses running into millions of dollars on the state they are seeking to overthrow. Maoists rule India’s ‘Red Corridor’

INDIA AS A FAILED STATE: India is a failed state for failing to provide food shelter and clothing for her citizens. India has bloody borders. India has had wars with all her neighbors. By harping on the “failed state” mantra the bigoted Indian commentariat wants to surround “Akhand Bharat” with small Balkanized mini-states like Sikkim, Bhutan, Sri Lanka. Any hegemonous power achieves its goal in the region by sabotaging the integrity and sovereignty of the neighbors.  India wants to surround itself with a “Warsaw pact” type of string of obsequies and subservient states. Pakistan is big hurdle in India’s hegemonistic policy of Westward expansion. Since the West never faced “India” in combat, they are unaware of the (South) Indian agression that was encountered by Southeast Asia (Laos, Cambodia, and even Indonesia). dalits-in-india-4.jpgIndia: 3500-yrs of massacres of Dalit-Sudra Blacks by Arya-Brahmins In the Indian caste system, a Dalit, often called an untouchable, or an outcaste, is a person who according to traditional Hindu belief does not have any “varnas“. Varna refers to the Hindu belief that most humans were supposedly created from different parts of the body of the divinity Purusha. The part from which a varna was supposedly created defines a person’s social status with regard to issues such as whom they may marry and which professions they may hold.[1]Dalits fall outside the varnas system and have historically been prevented from doing any but the most menial jobs.[1] (However, a distinction must be made between lower-caste people and Pariahs.) Included are leather-workers (called chamar), carcass handlers (called mahar),poor farmers and landless laborers, night soil scavengers (called bhangior chura), street handicrafters, folk artists, street cleaners, dhobi, etc.

Sudra Holocaust: Genocide of 1 million Dalits in India since 1947: About three million Dalit women have been raped and around one million Dalits killed from the time of Independence. This is 25 times more than number of soldiers killed during the wars fought after independence. That is why Dalits do not need Aryan culture or Hindu Dharma based on caste any more. …” [Dr. Tulsiram]

Traditionally, they were treated as pariahs in South Asiansociety and isolated in their own communities, to the point that even their shadows were avoided by the upper castes. Discrimination against Dalits still exists in rural areas in the private sphere, in ritual matters such as access to eating places and water sources. It has largely disappeared, however, in urban areas and in the public sphere, in rights of movement and access to schools[2]. The earliest rejection of discrimination, at least in spiritual matters, was made as far back as the Bhagavada Gita, which says that no person, no matter what, is barred from enlightenment. Even early Indian texts such as the Rig Veda discourage the abuse of outcastes. The text reads, “Indra, you lifted up the outcast who was oppressed, you have glorified the blind and the lame.” (Rg-Veda 2:13:12)[3]There are an estimated 160 million Dalits in India.[4] Wikipedia

Very few policy makers in India dare to acknowledge the danger to the nation’s territorial integrity. The security and integrity of the nation has become hostage to vote-bank politics. Democracy and more than eight percent economic growth will be of no avail if the country as such withers away. India is not only being frayed at its borders by insurgencies, but its very writ in the heartland is becoming increasingly questionable. The rise of a nation is predicated upon unity, peace and stability, which are essentially determined by good governance. The prevailing security scenario poses the serious question - Is India’s development and economic growth becoming unsustainable due to poor handling of the security? There are three dangers to the territorial integrity that bedevil the nation. Bharat Verma. Is There A Solution To Violence In North East India? April 15, 2009

Martin McCauley writes: The north east Indian states, known as the Seven Sisters, are home to a heterogeneous mix of ethnic groups. They have been in conflict with New Delhi since independence in 1947. They are of fundamental importance for the nation’s economy supplying oil and coal. The region has been plagued by terrorism for the last 30 years.

The United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) is the largest terrorist group and earlier this month set off several bombs in the state’s business capital, Guwahati. The goal of the movement is independence for Assam.

    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5GxT93jD5w&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&feature=player_embedded&fs=1]

Large numbers of workers from India’s Hindi belt have migrated to Assam to labour in its tea plantations and mines. Hence ULFA targets both national and local political elites especially the Hindi speaking migrants who are predominantly from Bihar, a very poor state. The argument of the ULFA is that the poor migrants are overwhelming the local culture and depriving Assamese of work in their own industries. Hence it is xenophobic and chauvinistic.

Although ULFA is strongly opposed to internal migration in India it does not protest against the illegal immigration of Bengali Muslims from Bangladesh. This has led Indian officials to assume that Bangladesh’s Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) is involved. New Delhi maintains that the DGFI is supported by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

According to Amnesty International, the Indian state has sought to stifle the basic human rights of the Sikhs by creating a culture of impunity where large-scale extrajudicial killings, torture, custodial rape, use of draconian laws by state agencies are natural occurrences that go unpunished.<ref>Amnesty International, “India: Break the cycle of impunity and torture in Punjab,” January 2003. While mass media reports claim that “normalcy” has returned to Punjab, impartial observers like Amnesty International assert that the basic human rights of the Sikhs continue to be violated by the Indian state.Amnesty International, “India: Break the cycle of impunity and torture in Punjab”, January 2003. [10]. From recent events, it appears that a demand for Khalistan persists in sections of the Sikh community. On April 14, 2004, Daljit Singh Bittu founded a new political party, the Shiromani Khalsa Dal, with “establishment of a free, sovereign, and separate Khalsa state” as its primary objective.Shiromani Khalsa Dal, “Daljit Singh Founds New Party on Idealism and Activism”, [11]. Second, on April 29, 2004, the Dal Khalsa, a Sikh nationalist organization, began a week long “Khalsa Freedom March” from the Akal Takht in Amritsar with an objective of gaining support for the idea of Khalistan by peaceful means. Sikhe News Bureau, “Khalsa March for Freedom”, [12]. A large number of gurdw?ras (the Sikh houses of worship), across Punjab and in the diaspora continue to celebrate the “martyrdom” anniveraries of Sikhs who died fighting in the Khalistan freedom struggle. While fear of human rights abuses keeps sloganing in Punjab to the minimum, the Sikh organizations in the diaspora (primarily Europe, North America and Australia) continue to lobby for the secession of Khalistan from the Indian union.

Creation of the Punjab Rights Forum: In June/July 2005 following the arrests of dozens of alleged Babbar Khalsa (International) militants and sympathizers in Punjab and Delhi, a number of Punjab based pro-Khalistan political parties and organizations joined forces with a dozen odd Human Rights, Religious and Kisan groups to form a loose coalition known as the Punjab Rights Forum. PENURY STRICKEN INDIA HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE HER CITIZENS A DECENT LIVING: How poor is India? Some startling statistics have just been released by a forgotten wing of Dr Singh’s own administration, the National Commission for Enterprises in the Unorganised Sector. Around 80 per cent of India’s working population is in this sector. Nearly 80 per cent of this group earns less than 20 rupees a day and 85 per cent of this sub group is trapped in debt. By that usual sleight of hand we have drawn an arbitrary line to define poverty: Rs 12 a day constitutes the poverty line. This encourages the illusion that 77 per cent of India is now above the poverty line. It isn’t that much above in any case. Nor is this poverty line index-linked to inflation. Twelve rupees a day buys much less today than it did three years ago. The traditional poverty groups remain where they were: 88 per cent of Scheduled Tribes and Castes, 80 per cent of “Other Backward Classes” and 85 per cent of Muslims belong to the “poor and vulnerable” class. FETID WATERS IN ALL MAJOR INDIAN CITIES: Delh, Mumbai

In Devi’s village, sewage and household wastewater flow along open drains that line both sides of narrow alleyways. The fetid water gathers in a shallow channel choking with plastic containers, discarded footwear and household trash. A woman carrying a folded mattress on her head steps deftly along a narrow bridge spanning the mire. A mechanical pump chugs on the bank, sucking up the liquid to dispense over a nearby vegetable patch. Children play around the edge, alongside tethered, cud- chewing water buffalo.

A man walks past, clutching a water-filled plastic bottle, presumably on his way to defecate. The rest of the slurry empties into a trench coursing along a feces-dotted path through a field of cauliflowers. A shoeless boy uses a long-handled spade to create a new sluice for the black sludge to ooze over the vegetable field.

What’s not drained from the trench empties into a cesspool on the flood plain of the Yamuna River, which flows through Delhi and then Agra before joining the Ganges at Allahabad, 1,370 kilometers (850 miles) from its pristine source in the Himalayan mountains.

    ‘Remorseless Drain’

“If you’ve got feces all around you, it will find its way into your mouth,” Bartram says. “Cholera and typhoid are always dramatic because they come through as outbreaks, and outbreaks catch the news. The real burden is this long, remorseless drain of straightforward, simple diarrheal disease.”

Like Devi’s village, less than a fifth of Agra is connected to a sewage system. The 1.3 million people generate more than 150 million liters of effluent each day. The city has the capacity to treat 60 percent of the sewage. There are plans to build three more treatment plants by 2012 with funding from the state and federal governments and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, according to the Agra Municipal Corporation. BHARAT HAS THE HIGHEST MALNUTRITION RATE IN THE WORLD

India has the highest childhood malnutrition rates in the world: 44 percent of children younger than 5 are underweight, according to the International Food Policy Research Institute.

“Malnourished children are more susceptible to diarrheal disease, and with more diarrheal disease they become more malnourished,” says Jamie Bartram, head of the World Health Organization’s water, sanitation, hygiene and health group. “If we collectively could fix the world’s basic water and sanitation problems, we could reduce childhood mortality by nearly a third.”

POOR MUSLIMS THIRD RATE CITIZENS:Muslims constitute 25.2 per cent of the population of West Bengal, but have only 2.1 per cent of state government jobs. Kerala, which has almost the same percentage of Muslims (24.7 per cent), has given 10.4 per cent of state government jobs to the community. Assam’s ratio is similar: 30.9 per cent and 11.2 per cent. Bihar does better: it gives 7.6 per cent of state jobs to Muslims, who add up to 16.5 per cent of the population. Andhra Pradesh has the best record: 9.2 per cent of the population and 8.8 per cent of jobs. Uttar Pradesh, despite leaders who claim to be more-secular-than-thou has given only 5.1 per cent of state government jobs to an 18.5 per cent population. The situation is no better when it comes to health and education indices.

THE MAOISTS: The North East India comprises of the seven sister states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram,  Nagaland  and Tripura.  They form part of the   East Himalayan  region which extends from Sikkim eastwards  and   embraces  the  Darjeeling Hills  of West  Bengal. This swate of land is up in arms.

THE IT BOOM:The IT boom affects about 6 million Indians. The rest are schackled as indentured servants, caste prisons, or communal restrictions. The IT industry is based on the “Old Boy Network”which keeps the lower castes, the rural poor and the Untouchables out of thisone island of Indian employment.

Some big Indian companies count on private utilities, bottled water and walled compounds with electric fences. ..Unlike most households in the nearby city of 6.8 million, India’s No. 2 software maker’s headquarters doesn’t suffer water or power interruptions, says Bhawesh Kumar, its facilities manager.

    Poverty Trap

Infosys stores water from the public network in three underground reservoirs that can hold 2.2 million liters (580,000 gallons), or two days’ supply. The water passes through sand and carbon filters and purifiers, making it cleaner than what’s available to local people, he says. Attendants clean the brown- tiled bathrooms and refresh supplies of paper hand towels hourly during the business day. Infrared sensors ensure that toilets are flushed after each use.

Outside such compounds, dirty water and poor hygiene can trap communities in a cycle of disease, malnutrition and poverty, Bartram says. Worldwide, 18 percent of the population, or 1.2 billion people, rely on open defecation and about 884 million drink unsafe water, according to Unicef.

Every year, more than 200 million tonsof human sewage goes uncollected and untreated, fouling the environment. Each gram of feces can contain 10 million virus particles, 1 million bacteria, 1,000 parasite cysts and 100 parasite eggs, the UN found. Which sacred river? Are you talking about the Indus or the Sarasvaty/Hurasvati or the Ganges?

    3. pawandurani says:

      Moin ,

Are you sure 100000 have died in Kashmir ? or you blindly follow the figures given by terrorists ?

    4. Aliph Bay says:

Any life lost is a loss to all humanity. The Indian Government numbers are around 60,000. International analysts say the number is twice that number. The Hurriat which is in dialogue with the Indian Governmnet and is a legitimate Kashmiri organization claims that the numbers are around 150,000 dead. I used 100,000 as the best estimate possible.

      God Bless you.

Here is some additional information NOT available to intelligent people like you of “Indian origin”. The resolutions have not been implemented and the plebscite promised by Nehru was never held. …yeah yeah we have already heard the “Indian story which says that all forces need to be removed…but the UN resolution does not talk about “all forces”, simply REGULAR FORCES…..

Here are the facts, use them, learn form them or dump them

      INDIA’S COMMITMENT OF PLEBISCITE FOR

      THE PEOPLE OF KASHMIR

“Our view which we have repeatedly made public is that the question of accession in any disputed territory or State must be decided in accordance with wishes of people and we adhere to this view.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(in telegram No. 402-Primin-2227 dated 27 October 1947 to Prime Minister of Pakistan repeating telegram addressed to Prime Minister of United Kingdom).

“In regard to accession also, it has been made clear that this is subject to reference to people of State and their decision.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(in telegram No.413 dated 28 October 1947 addressed to Prime Minister of Pakistan).

“ …….the people of Kashmir would decide the question of accession. It is open to them to accede to either Dominion then.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(in telegram No.255 dated 31 October 1947 addressed to Prime Minister of Pakistan).

“Kashmir should decide question of accession by plebiscite or referendum under international auspices such as those of the United Nations.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(Letter No. 368-Primin dated 21 November 1947 to Prime Minister of Pakistan).

“We are anxious not to finalize anything in a moment of crisis and without the fullest opportunity to be given to the people of Kashmir to have their say. It is for them ultimately to decide.

“And let me make it clear that it has been our policy all along that where there is a dispute about the accession of a state to either Dominion, the accession must be made by the people of that state.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(Broadcast to the Nation: “All India Radio”: 2 November 1947).

“The issue in Kashmir is whether violence and naked force should decide the future or the will of the people.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(Statement in Indian Constituent Assembly; 25 November 1947).

“We have not opposed at any time an over-all plebiscite for the State as a whole…….”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(in telegram dated 16 August 1950 addressed to the U.N. Representative for India and Pakistan: S/1791 : Anne 1(B).

“The most feasible method of ascertaining the wishes of the people was by fair and impartial plebiscite.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(Joint press communique of the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan issued in Delhi after their meeting on 20 August 1953).

“People seem to forget that Kashmir is not a commodity for sale or to be bartered. It has an individual existence and its people must be the final arbiters of their future.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(Report to the All-India Congress Committee, 6 July 1951; The Statesman, New Delhi, 9 July 1951).

“Kashmir is not a thing to be bandied about between India and Pakistan but it has a soul of its own and an individuality of its own. Nothing can be done without the goodwill and consent of the people of Kashmir.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(Statement in the Indian Parliament, 31 March 1955).

“We had given our pledge to the people of Kashmir, and subsequently to the United Nations; we stood by it and we stand by it today. Let the people of Kashmir decide.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(Statement in the Indian Parliament, 12 February 1951).

“We have taken the issue to the United Nations and given our word of honour for a peaceful solution. As a great nation, we cannot go back on it. We have left the question for final solution to the people of Kashmir and we are determined to abide by their decision.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(Amrita Bazar Patrika, Calcutta, 2 January 1952).

“If, after a proper plebiscite, the people of Kashmir said, ‘We do not want to be with India’, we are committed to accept that. We will accept it though it might pain us. We will not send any army against them. We will accept that, however hurt we might feel about it, we will change the Constitution, if necessary.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(Statement in the Indian Parliament, 26 June 1952).

“I want to stress that it is only the people of Kashmir who can decide the future of Kashmir. It is not that we have merely said that to the United Nations and to the people of Kashmir; it is our conviction and one that is borne out by the policy that we have pursued, not only in Kashmir but every where.

“I started with the presumption that it is for the people of Kashmir to decide their own future. We will not compel them. In that sense, the people of Kashmir are sovereign.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(Statement in Indian Parliament, 7 August 1952)

“The whole dispute about Kashmir is still before the United Nations. We cannot just decide things concerning Kashmir. We cannot pass a bill or issue an order concerning Kashmir or do whatever we want.

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

      (The Statesman, 1 May 1953)

“Leave the decision regarding the future of this State to the people of the State is not merely a promise to your Government but also to the people of Kashmir and to the world.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(In telegram No. 25 dated 31 October 1947 addressed to Prime Minister of Pakistan).

“In regard to accession also it has been made clear that this is subject to reference to people of State and their decision.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(In telegram No.413 dated 28 October 1947 addressed to Prime Minister of Pakistan).

“That Government of India and Pakistan should make a joint request to U.N.O. to undertake a plebiscite in Kashmir at the earliest possible date.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(In telegram No. Primin-304 dated 8 November 1947 addressed to Prime Minister of Pakistan).

“We have always right from the beginning accepted the idea of the Kashmir people deciding their fate by referendum or plebiscite………..”

“Ultimately, the final decision of settlement, which must come, has first of all to be made basically by the people of Kashmir…….”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

(Statement at Press Conference in London, 16 January 1951, The Statesman, 18 January 1951).

“But so far as the Government of India are concerned, every assurance and international commitment in regard to Kashmir stands.”

      · JAWAHARLAL NEHRU

      Duh! Is this news?

Under the Indian independence act of 1947 all Muslim majority areas were to become Pakistan. Kashmir is a Muslim majority area. End of discusses. Q.E.D.

Neither the UN resolutions, nor the promises of Nehru (written and verbal) nro the 100,00 deaths, nor the need of 70,000 Indian army soldeirs in Kashmir are any indications that there is a need to produce the so called “article of accession” which is now lost, if it ever existed.

The dates on the article of accession also disputes it authenticity. See Alister Lambs writings also posted on this site.

The APHC does not want to be part of India.

Peace in the Subcontinent and the world depends on the resolution of the problems of Kashmir.

i admire the indepth ‘knowledge’ you have abt india.. but one small question.. have u ever visited the country? ever lived here? have u ever experienced democracy in pakistan? and watz teh big deal abt west bengal under marxists? dont u understand theres a democracy here? they were elected! the first democratically elected marxist govt in the world was in a south indian state – kerala if u dint know!

i dont know wat pleasure u get portraying india the way u have!

    8. | Balu | says:

and one small question .. hw can people of kashmir decide their fate when half of it was conquered by pakistan soon after independence?

    9. | Balu | says:

abt the 1 lakh kashmiris being dead more than half of them can be blamed on suicide bombs placed in busses and public places and a small percentage to the heavy shelling from the part of pakistan and indian army at time of war!

and abt maoist and naxalite problems they will sort out themselves!
and wat do u men by stop terrorism in pak.. hw is ind responsible (ISI blames each and every explotion on us though we never did any)

    10. | Balu | says:

and pls comment here u r speaking a lotta sense and my ppoints wudnt make any sense unless on read wat u are saying!

    11. moinansari says:

The 100,000 Kashmiri deaths are those that were killed by Indian security forces and extra judicial killings and rape of civilin Kashmiris

Naxalite problem is growing not shrinking. More than 1000 distrcits where the writ of the government is absent.

India has been sending terrorists to Pakistan for more than three decades…stuff you don’t read about in your Indian press. First KGB-RAW-Khad sued to send bombers during the First Afghan war as payback for fighting the USSR. Now the Karzai-RAW machine sends bombers to Pakistan….India supported the Mukti Bahni in 1971 with a campaign of terror in East Pakistan.

    12. | Balu | says:

‘campaign of terror’? it was indian army offering assistance!
and is there any way u can prove the fact that India has been sending terrorists across the border? apart from newspaper reports in pak???

    13. | Balu | says:

“The 100,000 Kashmiri deaths are those that were killed by Indian security forces and extra judicial killings and rape of civilin Kashmiris”

I think u g to this wrong! Its the total death tol in Kashmir and by the way not all militants fighting in kashmir are kashmiris many (most) are from afghanistan.. ths has increased with al-queda tying up with many existing Indian terrorist organisations.. earlier terrorist org in india refrained from bin laden and his terror web.. but a lot has changed recently!

      dear sir,
…(personal insults deleted) so lets not get into what u have written and waste time and words.
getting into what u SHUD do now, is have a look at your own backyard. try thinking abt how to stop sheltering osama and his good-for-nothing islamist fundamentalists, how to stop kissing the american as*, how to bring abt some democracy in your country, how to come to terms with humanitarianism and how to realize you are in the 21st country. try accustoming yourself and your countrymen to a normal world.
it is sad that you are old enuf to (deleted) .. but not fair and sensible enough to address these issues.
you cant rite all this cos ppl read. if someone believes wat u rite abt india, they are fools.

      There’s so much …

POOR MUSLIMS THIRD RATE CITIZENS: Muslims constitute 25.2 per cent of the population of West Bengal, but have only 2.1 per cent of state government jobs.

You talk of percentages in state government jobs. India has a rapidly growing private sector, which, for those who don’t know, provides jobs. Secondly, the government sector does not accommodate all the Hindus or all the Christians either. Congratulations, you have succeeded in making nothing look like something……

THE IT BOOM: The IT boom affects about 6 million Indians. The rest are schackled as indentured servants, caste prisons, or communal restrictions.

Contrary to popular belief, if you’re in the IT industry, you’re not homeless, poor, and a ‘caste prisoner’. Nobody says there is no caste problem in India, but you, my dear, should look at your own backyard first and try to figure out how one man can ‘stop democracy’ in one whole nation. We, like every other nation, have our problems. And we, like every other nation, can solve them ourselves, thankyouverymuch.

Yea, so there are communists in India. So? At least we, as a nation, don’t have to look at Big Brother US to give us a nod on every internal issue, including the elections.

India is one of the few states which have an army for defense purposes, and not offense. We do not start wars

India and Pakistan are moving towards more cordial relations, and spiritless spoilsports like you can’t digest the fact that you were always wrong.

      May god bless you!

    17. Aradhana says:

This is the reason why your country would never grow, and it will remain problematic. The obsession with India. When we care a two hoot what your country is up to and how many you kill in Balochistan and why you treat your co-religiost as Mohajjir.

India did not choose to become a Hindu nation, so it has every right to keep Kashmir, and Kashmir also belong to Kashmir Pandit, and they were the victims of real genocide. Sadly, no one talks about it because we are always accomodating to the minority.

Does your nation has a history of accomodating the hindus, where their population has come down drastically ever since independence, Do you speak about them.

But, why will you get it, as your religion and your culture does not teach empathy towards people of others faith.

If you waste a little time on your country and the problem it faces, and how the monster that your nation created is now coming to haunt, at least something will change in that doomed for sure nation.

We have problem and since we are not obsessed with a fanatic nation, we will will sure solve them all.
      ………………

    18. Sameer says:

please don’t get in the way of the Indian elephant or prepared to become 2 dimensional.

Pakistan is more than broke, let me tell you in your own language…

If Pakistan has progressed hugely then why has its leaders gone around the world asking for oil defferments, loans, military and financial aid? Pakistan has gone TWICE to the IMF for money. If Pakistan has progressed hugely then there would be no need for these Friends Of Democratic Pakistan meetings.

And the Pak Army. You lost in 1971. Since then it has been covert Jihadi, freedom fighter tactics. Pak Army also gave in to Taliban in Swat.

If Pakistan has made grat advances then they should be at the forefront to show the world your its achievements.

In the 1990s, Monmohan Singh reforms India’s economy. Pakistan goes to the IMF.

India launches a sattelite to photograph the moon. 10 Pakistanis launch an attack on Mumbai.

England cricketers return to India to finish tests after attacks. Sri Lankan cricketers attacked and security critisized. Pakistan cricket is serious trouble.

Pakistan lose 1 Swat to Taliban who enforce Shaira law in the region. 2 Indians win 3 Oscars.

India get Nuclear Deal with USA. Pakistan wants the same, but is refused by USA and China.

Kylie Minogue comes to Mumbai, India to shoot a song and dance scene. Cricket legend Imran Khan goes into hiding to avoid unlawful arrest ahead of the Long March.

PS.. Do not delete this reply, if you do not have the guts to face it…

      • Let me respond to you in the languge that you understand.

Your comments seem to indicate that you know more about Pakistan than Pakistanis. Your rhetoric seems to say that you know what is good for Pakistan, while Pakistanis don’t. This sort of mental illness, perhaps based on Brahamanism, or derived from a temple education keeps Bharatis in the hell holes of Kolkota, Mumbai where it thrives.

A country that enslaves 450 million of her citizens (US Congress, UNO, Human Rights Commission), marginalizes 150 million (Sachar report) cannot every hope to raise itself towards any meaningful development. A house of cards which uses only a very small segment of its Brahman population for improvement has intrinsic inbuilt traps which will prevent it from gaining any sustainable momentum.

The baggage of 550 million plus the Nazxalites, Mizus, Assamese are a constant drag which impedes any real progress on the ground. Whatever it achieves is lost–like a drop of honey lost in a salty ocean. Unless and until Bharat makes peace with all her neighbors (with serious boundary adjustments), it cannot claim any regional or global role anywhere.

Your self contradictory arguments display your flawed paradigm that Pakistan somehow needs to emulate the failed, penury stricken, poverty infested, caste ridden Bharati model which documented an anemic growth rate for the last half century (the anomaly of the last decade notwithstanding).

In 1947 Pakistanis sacrificed 1 million lives to refute the hegemony of the British and the Hindus. Pakistan decimated the Indian forces in 1965 and liberated half of Kashmir. In 1965 India could not take any Pakistani territory. I971 was a Civil War. India dared not attack Pakistan in 1998, 2002 and 2007 (undeclared wars won by Pakistan without firing a single bullet). Muslims have ruled Bharat for 1000 years. Instead of looking down on your computer, go outside and look up–you the towering minarets and the imposing domes will remind you of centuries of servitude, and update your memory about Mummud of Ghazni, Ahmed Shah Abdali, and Aurenzeb. If you need any further refresher course, just look at the pictures of the Pakistani missiles fully armed with 250 Nuclear bombs ready to annihilate the aggressor.

Pakistan is not broke. For those that have been living in a cave, may not know may that the entire world is in a financial crisis, from the USA, to Sweden, to Iceland to the UK. Pakistan was the country hit hard by the astronomical rise in prices as well as the occupation of Afghanistan by the USA. For those who have no knowledge of the financial affairs of the world, this may come as a complete surprise, but the US and UK banks have been utterly routed by the crisis.

There is a war imposed by the USA on Afghanistan. This has caused huge economic losses for Pakistan. Friends of Pakistan is a group to alleviate some of the spillover of the war. OF course reading the propaganda on the Bharati newspapers, you will never be able to comprehend how the USSR was defeated by the Pakistanis in how how the USA is ready to exit.

Of course your version of stories leaves out important facts. The anemic growth rate of Bharat was laughingly called “The Hindu Growth rate” for decades. Meager success does not a record make. In the 90s, Pakistan faced US sanctions for a decade for the Nuclear program and maintained a 5% growth rate.

Tamil Nadu had one of the earliest independence movements (separatist or secessionist or liberation movements) in India even before the British left. Unlike the Pakistan movement the latter is based on nationalism, ethnicity and language and not on religion. The first “Tamil Nadu for Tamils” Conference was held in December 10, 1939. Mr. C.N. Annadurai, the chief lieutenant of Periyar E.V. Ramaswamy (EVR) was the principal speaker and he explained the reasons and justification for the demand in his own spell binding oratory.

The Dravida Kazhagam (DK) of Periyar E. V. Ramaswamy and its offshoot Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) had as their primary goal an independent Dravida Nadu (southern India which included Tamil Nadu) separate from India. Following the 1963 law enacted by the Congress Party Government of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru that banned parties and individuals demanding independence (freedom or separatism or secession) from India, DMK abandoned it.

Though Periyar continued with is “Tamil Nadu for Tamils” slogan, one of the few who openly and actively campaigned for and independent Tamil Nation (Tamil Nadu) was the Tamil National Poet Mr. Durai Manickam (popularly known as Pavalareru Perunchiththiranar). Some groups and individuals demanded something just short of total independence from India. One reason for crossing the line is possible ban on the group. So they demand a Tamil Nation” within India with maximum devolution of powers. Such parties included some breakaway groups from Dravida Kazhagam (DK), the relatively new political party Patali Makkal Katchi (PMK) headed by Dr. Ramadoss and Tamil National Movement (Tamil Desiya Iyakkam) headed by Pazha Nedumaran. Underground organizations which are waging an armed struggle for independence for Tamil Nadu include Tamil Nadu Viduthalai Pafdai (TNLA) headed by Maran, Tamil Nadu Viduthalai Padai (TNLA) headed by Ilavarasan and Tamil Nadu Retrieval Troops (TNRT). Number of cadres in these groups are not known but they are believed to be small.

The principal political parties in Tamil Nadu, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), founded by C. N. Annadurai and now headed by M. Karunanidhi and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), founded by M. G. Ramachandran (MGR) and now headed by Jayalalithaa Jayaram also have devolution of power to states and less power to the Union (Central) Government of India in their election manifestos. However they do very little about it. Marumalarchi DMK founded by Vaiko and Dravida Kazhagam (DK), founded by Periyar EVR and now headed by Veeramani, also have similar goals but again have done very little.

The Indian national parties such as the Congress Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are for a more unitary government with power more centralized at the Union Government and the state governments more dependent on the former. Offshoots of the Congress Party like the Tamil Manila Congress (TMC), founded by Moopanar and now headed by his son Vasan and the Rajive Tamil Nau Congress (named after the late Rajiv Gandhi) headed by Ramamurthy are also have similar views. These parties do not, however, have the popular support and vote bank as DMK and AIADMK.

This is an overview of the general politics of the state and how the Tamil Nadu liberation (independence) movements fit into it. For detailed discussions on the various aspects of the independence (or secessionist) movements, readers are referred to the following articles.

Swasthika is our sacred religious symbol. We have the right to show it , wear it in any form. If you think wearing that Cap, growing beard , putting the Islamic symbol in Pakistan flag is Extermistm then this is. We dont live in Terrorist Head quraters or in any lame 16th century Islamic state.

Also you can write ““Extremist Christians show power using the Jesus symbol to show Muslim hatred. “ . Its our wish to use in in flag/or Diwali celebration.

His support for the Khalifat Movement was not support for Muslims–it was a request for reciprocity for including Muslims in the protest of the INC. Gandhi could’t care two hoots about the Khilafat.

Mr. Jawarlal Nehru’s father was Moti Lal Nehru not Madanmohan malavya.

Tokenism is very important to Bharat’s image. Gerrymandering prevents the election of Muslims or lower caste Hindus, except for token figures. The Bharati constitution does not allow separate electorate to the Dalits–a vocal demand of all the disenfranchised 450 million. Separate electorate would destroy Brahamanism and let the Dalits rule in a coalition with the leftists and the Muslims. Gandhi opposed separate electorate with a fast to death, even after the British had agreed to it. Separate electorate gave rise to the Muslim League which captured all the seats in the 1946 election.

Enslavement of Dalits: 450 million Dalits, Scheduled Castes, Untouchables etc are struggling for rights to be accepted as humans. The Dalits hate Mr. Mohandas Gandhi for denying them separate electorate and hoodwinking Dr. Ambadekar.
